Ambassador of the Kingdom in Panama Visits Aruba for Various Meetings

Commercial opportunities between Aruba and Panama will be explored.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom in Panama, Mr. Sander Cohen, is currently visiting Aruba. Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes mentioned that she met with Mr. Cohen during her visit to Panama for the inauguration of the new president of Panama at the beginning of July 2024, where they had interesting discussions about the commercial opportunities between the two countries. Based on these discussions, Mr. Cohen has come to visit Aruba to establish a Panama-Aruba "trade mission," which will cover the commercial opportunities.

During his visit, Mr. Cohen also met with the Minister of Economic Affairs, the Minister of Tourism, and with ATIA, the Chamber of Commerce, AHATA, and various other stakeholders to begin preparing for the "trade mission."

As is known, Aruba is in recovery, and one of the key points the Government wants to focus on is the diversification of the economy. For this, Panama will play an important role, as there are many opportunities to explore. Once the preparations are advanced, representatives from Panama will organize the necessary meetings with the private sector in Aruba to attend some preparatory meetings, and later to participate in the "trade mission," which, if successful, will be of great benefit to the country of Aruba.
