Prime Minister Attends Opening of the Aruba Global Travel Conference

On the evening of Monday, September 16, the opening of the Aruba Global Travel Conference took place, with Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes delivering remarks.

The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to personally address tourism experts, travel professionals, and distinguished representatives from the hospitality industry in North America, Latin America, and Europe. On behalf of the Government and the people of Aruba, she extended a warm welcome to all the participants visiting the "Happy Island."

In her speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that the presence of so many countries at the conference is a testament to their commitment to the continued success of Aruba’s tourism industry, which plays a crucial role in the country’s economy, prosperity, and future. The success of the tourism sector in recent years is largely due to the strong support and contributions from local associations in Aruba, along with global partnerships with airlines and tour operators.

While Aruba’s tourism performance in 2024 has been impressive, the Government's investment in infrastructure, as well as in new hotel developments and other commercial sectors, has also been noteworthy. This can be seen in the various projects around the island.

Over the years, Aruba has been fortunate to be recognized as a high-quality destination, and the island can be proud that these investments will continue to uphold that reputation in the future. The Government will continue working closely with the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), AHATA, and the entire tourism and hospitality industry to explore more opportunities for investing in both the island's tourism products and the visitor experience.
