Last Monday, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes received the Aruba Paralympic Delegation and the athlete recognized and beloved by the entire Aruban population, Elliot Loonstra, who will represent Aruba for the second time at the Paralympic Games. This year, the Paralympic Games will be held in Paris and will commence at the end of August.

On behalf of the Government of Aruba, the Prime Minister handed Elliott the Aruban flag, which he will carry during the parade in Paris, and wished Elliott all the best in his competitions.

The Prime Minister received from the Paralympic Delegation the official uniform that Elliott and the delegation will wear in Paris during the Paralympic Games. The Prime Minister also received the uniform for the Minister of Sports, Endy Croes.

The Prime Minister expressed that she has seen Elliott develop over the past few years into an athlete with great dedication and passion for what he does. Elliott has already won a total of 15 medals in the sports he practices, in various regional and international competitions in which he has participated.

"We are extremely proud of Elliott, for all his dedication and enthusiasm in representing Aruba proudly. He mentioned that he is well-prepared and has a good plan, and we are confident that he will be successful.

I also want to thank the commission that seeks out various athletes and prepares them in the best possible way to represent our country with dignity. We hope that Elliott's enthusiasm and achievements will inspire many more athletes so that Aruba can have an even larger delegation in the future. Elliott, much success and thank you for everything you do for this beautiful island. We are extremely proud of you," expressed the Prime Minister.
