Youth Power Project Event 2024 was a Great Inspiration

"We as adults are here to listen to you so that we can work together to make each of your dreams a reality."

Last Friday at The Venue, the "Awards Night" took place for the best project of Youth Power 2024, celebrating its 10th anniversary. For this project, there were a total of 57 young nominees, several of whom completed six weeks of seminars to reach their own project. The project that these young people had to come up with needed to be something innovative for the community, and the winning project would be subsidized by ATHA so it could be realized.

Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes was present at this event, where she delivered an inspiring speech to all the young people present. She expressed that it is often said that our youth are the future of Aruba, and therefore, as adults, we must work with that mindset to achieve everything that is in their best interest.

The Prime Minister indicated that this project demonstrates the power, desire, and inspiration of each of the young people present, and it is important to take each one into account. She also mentioned that she is usually asked to give a speech and words of inspiration, but at this event, she was the one who was inspired by all the young people who worked so hard, doing community work, helping the community, and the most vulnerable, to complete their projects.

The winner of the Youth Power Project 2024 was the young Renderly Trimon, who came up with the project "Separate and Recycle." This young person, along with 15 other youths, had to present their project in front of the judges to achieve the highest title.

"A heartfelt thanks to the dynamic ATHA team for organizing this event, and certainly a thank you to the tireless coordinator who reminded me every day not to forget to attend this event. The fruits of your work were showcased during this spectacular evening. I also thank all the participating youths for taking on the challenge and demonstrating their youth power. We as adults are here to listen to you so that we can work together to make each of your dreams a reality. Thank you very much and much success," the Prime Minister concluded.
